It is a visualization of the prey’s destiny in front of its predator. The snail standing on the cliff of death, is the best prey for the stock. No one could say this snail manage to live, nor would the stork. The stork is saying, “Once I poke you, you’re mine.” However, the snail denies his fate of death by saying “I will survive.” He is doing his best not to die. However, even though the snail tries to speed up, he is a mere snail in front of its enemy. If the snail is like an hour hand of a clock, the stork is like a second hand.
Artist Jeong Myeong Seok wanted to draw an imagery of a person who lives a fate depending everything upon the heavens. This paintings is about the destiny of life, which is not nor under our control but by the heavens. “Once you give up, you die and lose. Therefore you mustn’t look at others, but persevere until the end.”
If you look carefully in the linear drawings, you can also discover the music of Beethoven’s symphony No.5, “the symphony of destiny.” The upper stroke are drawn with strength, while the bottom strokes are weakened with grief. I can also be referred to the destiny of the Christ. Although Jesus cried out, “Why have you forsaken me?”, God only sacrificed his physicality in order to save the spirit to that it may glorified.
This composition was based on the idea that came from Jesus. As Jeong saw this imagery through an inspirational vision given from Jesus, he immediately drew this in a breath taking moment.

Artist Jeong Myeong Seok wanted to visualize through imagery someone who lives while surrendering his fate to the heavens. This painting is about the destiny of life, which is under Heaven’s control: If you give up, you will die and lose. Therefore, don’t look at others but persevere until the end.

Jesus suggested the artist one more painting to be paired up with “Destiny”, which became this piece. This message “boldness saves you from death” is embeded in this painging.
As the weak snail put up all his spite towards the stork, the stork was shocked near to death. Eventually, the stork changed his thoughts and ceased to attack. God was with the weak so that the weak could defeat the strong. The destiny transformed into “boldness.”
Likewise, boldness empowers people and they can emit great energy such as a bear or king kong. The rock that the snail is standing upon, is depicted in a way to resemble a bear. Act boldly!
Jesus suggested that the artist create another painting to pair with Destiny. Embedded within this second painting is the message “boldness saves you from death.”
As the fragile snail puts up a fight, the stork is startled half to death. Eventually, the stork changes his mind and ceases his attack. God was with the weak so that the weak could defeat the strong. Therefore, the snail’s destiny was transformed as a result of his boldness.
Boldness empowers people to display immense power like that of a bear or King Kong. The rock that the snail is standing upon is depicted in a way to resemble a bear. Act boldly!

Moreover, it is stronger than we think, so it hardly bends not breaks, and grows well on the seashore within the salty winds.
The palm tree also refers to the palm tree in the Bible. When Jesus entered the city of Jerusalem, many people welcomed Him by weaving palm branches. The artist started to draw palm trees for Christmas decorations to glorify God since he was a teenager. He has illuminated the arts of the Lord and of Providence by painting palm trees over 50 years.

It is a scenery of the beautiful harmony of nature, the beauty of God’s Creation. Just as a famous place is harmoniously composed of the elements of water, trees, rocks, and people who are the master of all creation, “harmony” is only achieved when there are the right components.
In this piece, the sun, rock, and water represent the Holy Trinity – Father God, Son, and the Holy Spirit.
In particular, the rocky cliffs represent God and the Christ. The pine trees rooted in the rocks symbolize the people who have survived despite of rain, wind, snow, which stands for hardships and difficulties. These are the ones who live in unity with the Lord.
The ocean symbolizes the majesty of the truth. Although the tides refer to the ceaseless difficulties of life, it also talks about the people who have survived through the tides of life. The boat not only represents this time period, but is also an expressions of the love that is only achieved when heaven and earth meets. We are living in a time period where we can go anywhere we drive to, instead of rowing a boat manually. It is a new historic era centered on spirituality. This a time period when we can achieve Heaven, only when we love God and the Lord based on truth.
Likewise, Heaven can only be fulfilled when there is water, tree, and rock; God and the human being; truth and love.
This is a period to prepare ourselves in order to receive Jesus’ second coming. This artwork implies the message that the ideal will of God will be fulfilled in reality.
