Vietnam War
You Will Surely Return Alive!

I went to Vietnam for the first time at the age of 21. It was 1966, and I had been dispatched to Vietnam during the Second Indochina War (also known as the Vietnam War). When we first landed, the unexpected tropical sunlight and burning heat—over 40°C—welcomed us. We soldiers suffered from breathing difficulties and heatstroke. Under these circumstances, we had to lie in ambush and carry out military operations in mountainous regions.
During the war, I was fearful of combat and death, questioning, “Can I possibly return to my country alive after enduring these scorching hot temperatures, fierce battles, and hellish surroundings?” I kept praying to God that I really wanted to survive the war and return to Korea safely. One day, I pledged to God, “If I can return to Korea in one piece, I’ll devote my entire life to God and the world.” While praying sincerely, I shed hot tears, and as I looked up at the sky, I felt that it looked much clearer and brighter than on ordinary days. Then, a voice in my mind said to me: “You will surely return alive!”
Just as the voice had promised, years later, I was discharged from service without hurting even a finger, despite facing scores of precarious incidents while carrying out hundreds of ambushes, battles, and search operations in the mountains. God heard my prayers and saved my life during the war.
After returning home, I kept my pledge to God: I diligently trained my spirit and body to be like gold and became a better vessel for Him, and I continuously prayed and received the Word of life in Mt. Daedun and in the caves near my hometown. At the age of 34, I began ministry by preaching the Word of the time period and by curing through prayer those who were sick with various diseases such as deafness, mental illness, cancer, and tuberculosis. In some cases, even the physically dead returned to life again. Such encounters were countless; to speak of each one would take days. In addition, I cured the spiritually ill and resurrected the dead in faith. All these miracles made possible through prayer were too many to record. Whenever someone prays, big and small wonders take place because God is with them.
